Verge is a multi-algorithm enabled proof-of-work based cryptocurrency. It is a digital currency designed for people and for everyday use. It improves upon the original Bitcoin blockchain and aims to fulfill its initial purpose of providing individuals and businesses with a fast, efficient and decentralized way of making direct transactions.
Verge Currency was created in 2014 under the name DogeCoinDark. In 2016, it was rebranded to Verge Currency. Verge is 100% PoW (Proof of Work). Verge uses multi-algorithm mining support. That means that individuals with different types of mining equipment are able to mine verge, which means more security through decentralization and a more fair distribution of coins among the Verge mining community. Verge is one of the few cryptocurrencies that support five different hashing algorithms; Namely, Scrypt, X17, Lyra2rev2, myr-groestl and blake2s.
